Charity Program held to commemorate Honorable Chairman’s Birthday

Tharunyata Hetak, Birthday celebrations along with the true spirit of the Sinhala and Tamil New year was carried to a children’s home in Gangodavilla Balika Lama Sanwardhana Vocational Training Center in Maharagama on the 10th April 2013.There were 150 girls in the home,from the ages 5- 18. A special treat was organized for the children along with a day filled with entertainment and a Medical camp. A pahan pinakama was also organized by the Tharunyata Hetak organization at Arawwala Pannipitiya Sri Wijewardhanaramaya ,where 10,000 lamps were lit,27 Na plants were planted , 5 Budhdha Statues were also donated.The religious ceremony closed with a special Dharma Deshanaya to invoke special blessings to Honourable Chariman Namal Rajapaksa

Hambanthota District Member of Parliament ,Chairman Tharunyata Hetak ,Attorney at Law Namal Rajpaksa, marked his usual charisma in addressing a gathering as the keynote speaker at the national conference held on Youth Reconciliation held by Lakshman Kadiragamar Institute of International Relations and Strategic Studies on the 2^nd January 2013.

As a pioneer and a key player in the ever changing role of youth,The Honourable MP outlined and emphasized on the facets of youth development .The main emphasis was focused on how the vehicle of youth can be steered towards the concept of one Sri Lanka. He also mentioned how discrepancy at all levels should be dissolved where by an arena is created for the youth to perform on an equal status quo.

The highlighting factor was “Tharunyat Hetak” movement has been a key player in changing the role of youth and eradicating discrimination.

Free Cataract Surgeries - Wanni / Mulathiv/ Kilinochchi

Tharunyata Hetak together with the “Vision 2020” unit of the Ministry of Health conducted free cataract surgery programs in Wanni/Killinochchi for the IDP s in the area.

Vavuniya and Mullaitivu - 16th, 17th and 18th May 2011. 348 cataract surgeries were performed by Dr. Shamintha Amarathunga, Consultant Eye Surgeon on recently resettled IDPs in Wanni.

Killinochchi – 14th and 15th June 2011. 202 cataract surgeries were performed by Dr. Charith Fonseka,
Consultant Eye Surgeon on recently resettled IDPs in Killinochchi .

Hon. Namal Rajapaksa MP made a visit to the Killinochchi and Mullaitive Hospital to encourage the Eye Surgeons ,doctors ,sponsors and other support staff of this project.

Also a free cataract surgery programme was conduct in Lunugamwehera for the under privileged senior citizens of the area in March / April. 32 cataract surgeries were performed by the Consultant Eye Surgeon , Dr. Ayeshmantha Peiris .

Dr. P.Maheepala (Addl.Secretary ,Ministry of Health) , Dr. Asela Abeydheera ( “Vision 2020’’ unit of Ministry of Health) and Dr. Chula Senaratne and Mr.M.C. Philip of Tharunyata Hetak coordinated this program.

Specialized Medical Care For The Flood Victims

On the direction of the Chairman Hon. Namal Rajapaksa ( Attorney at Law) MP, Tharunyayata Hetak together with the Ministry of Health, organized a free specialized medical clinic in Uppuweli, Trincomalee on 19th February 2011 , to provide specialized health care free of charge for the people affected by the recent floods in the district. The attended crowd was around 3000 and around 50 consultants and medical officers participated in this from Colombo and Trincomalee district. HQI and the staff of Trincomalee Police Station, Trincomalee Sarvodhaya Centre, Trincomalee Lions Club,and Wickramarachchi Opticians contributed towards the success of the project.

Best Medical Care To The Most Rural/Underprivileged Community

In continuation with our efforts to promote the concept of “A Healthy Society” in accordance with the “Mahinda Chainthana”, to provide the best medical care to the most rural and most underprivileged areas of the country, Tharunyayata Hetak together with the Ministry of Health conducted the following free Specialized Medical Clinics. Around 2500 and 3000 patients participated for each of these clinics. Wickramarachchi Opticians also supported these clinics with distribution of spectacles.

Tharunyata Hetak and Carson’s Personality Development Workshop

In addressing the concerns of the youth Tharunyata Hetak joins hands with Carson’s Cumber Batch PLC in to further strengthen the Sri Lankan youth.
A personality is defined by different aspects the current predominance is on personality development in the context of personal grooming. A workshop was held for the batch of trainees in Hambanthota on the 8th and 9th August 2012. The students were presented with different methods of personal grooming and soft skills which in turn contributed to enhancing employability.

Tharunyata Hetak understands the importance of education in this instance the greatest input is from the facilitators of knowledge” teachers”. Honourable Member of Parliament ,Chairman Tharunyata Hetak Attorney at Law Namal Rajapaksa sees the significant link and importance.

Teachers are the greatest strength to the youth when it come to education, becoming a strength to the teachers Tharunyata Hetak plays their role effectively .The evolving teaching patterns in the global arena is a result and impact of globalization.Thus in the emerging trends of the teaching patterns in the United Kingdom SPICE International headed by founder and chairman Mr Mohan Samarasingha worked in collaboration with Tharunyata Hetak .The program kick started in Hambanthota with blessings of the Ministry of Education and chose the English teachers from the respective schools.It consisted of a 5 day work shop on the emerging trends in English linguistic skills in the United Kingdom.The program was conducted by globally acclaimed lecturer Mr Mark Durnford.

The first phase saw immense success at the Tangalle youth center.The second phase was in Colombo at the S. Thomas’ College Auditorium with the participation of 25 English teachers from the Western Province. The finale was graced by the Honourable First Lady Madam Shiranthi Wickramasingha Rajapaksa as the chief guest of the prize giving ceremony.In enabling youth to reach the pinnacle of success thus the point of self actualization Tharunyata Hetak and Honourable Namal Rajapaksa is at the forefront.

Tharunyata hetak continues their quest in strongly personifying their vision of striving towards equality.

Matrix and Tharunyata Hetak Scholarship Awarding Ceremony

Tharunyata Hetak awarded scholarships to 22 students island wide affiliated to Matrix College in Bachelor of Information Technology.This is the 3rd successful year which this joint venture took place giving hundreds of students the privilege
of free and quality education.The concept was found and initiated by Member of Parliament /Attorney at Law/Chairman Tharunyata Hetak Honourable Namal Rajapaksa.The program was headed and coordinated by Mrs Savithri Pandithrathna,Miss Kithali Jayawickreme and Mr Viraj Pinto jayawardhana of Matrix.

BPO Trainning Work Shop with Microsoft

Enhancing employability has been of primary importance in our agenda.We wish to embed our strength specially in the area of dealing with unemployability .A special work shop was arranged for 800 youth in Hambanthota giving them a training in basic skills of enhancing employability.It was an insight to the comprehensive training we have outlined for the youth consisting of different levels catering to different types of employment.This particular program in concern was dealing with the field BPO’s.The youth were educated on the prerequisites to create a fit with individual qualifications and the available vacancies.

We belive this workshop will be the 1^st step of the stepping stone to efficient and effective employment for the youth.In which we also wish to facilitate them towards the final of cut perfection.In concern to the componant of education it becomes a part of a powerful package in enabling the youth to reach the point of self actualization.

Our Special note of appreciation extends to Ministry of Education , Microsoft and the youth who participated this program.

Carlton Marathon - Central Province

The fifth race of the Carlton Marathon 2012 was held respectively at the Gatabe grounds, Kandy on the 31st of March. Over 100 participants were present at the above event. A large number of spectators were witnessed and by far the largest number at the Carlton Marathon 2012. The marathon race on the 31st of March was dedicated to the Central Kings Carlton Super Sevens franchise. The seventh race of the Carlton Marathon 2012 will be held in the Uva province at the Buththala Dutugamunu Maha Vidyalaya grounds on the 07th of April 2012 and the race will be dedicated to the Uva Viper’s Carlton Super sevens franchise. All participants who wish to compete are invited to be present at the Buththala Dutugamunu Maha Vidyalaya grounds before 06.00am on the 07th of April.

A special thank you should be awarded to the principal sponsors of the Carlton Marathon 2012 “Laugh Gas Ltd” for the support given in making the event a success where a considerable amount of athletes benefited.
