On an invitation extended by Mr. Namal Rajapaksa, Chairman “Tharunyata Hetak”,
the “Triple Gem Society of New Jersey, U.S.A Came forward for the welfare of the Internally Displaced People(IDP) in Vavuniya.

Under the able leadership of Ven .Yatirawana Wimala - Chairman,” Triple Gem Society”
a medical clinic building was built and donated to the IDp’s in the IDP camp in “Dharmapuram “in the Vavuniya District.

In the zone 4 of the IDP camps in Cheddikulam, Vavuniya “Triple Gem Society” constructed 100 semi permanent houses for the displaced government servants and teachers.
On a concept of Mr. Namal Rajapaksa, Ven. Yatirawana Wimala took the lead in completion of this task with the assistance of the “Triple Gems Society”.
The handing over of these houses to the selected persons was done at a simple ceremony at the zone 4 on 20th July 2009.
Kerosene Lamps, School books and kits for pregnant Mothers were also distributed on this occasion.
