The Presidents Schools Rugby League 2009

The Presidents Schools Rugby League was held for two consecutive months with the active participation of 80 schools where it initiated on the 3rd of May 2009.

The closing ceremony was held at Temple Trees on the 6th of July 2009 Royal College rugby team was crowned for their victory at the Presidents house on Monday 6th July as champions of the ‘A’ division league.

Honourable Esteemed Excellency President Mahinda Rajapaksa awarding the trophy to the jubilant Royal captain Naren Dhason. Also in the picture, sports minister Mr. Gamini Lokuge, Chairman of the Tharunayata Hetak Foundation Namal Rajapakse, Royal College Principal Mr. Upali Gunesekara, Rugby Union president Mr. Lasitha Gunaretne and the rest of the Royal team.The Runners-up of the tourney S.Thomas College, Mount Lavinia were also present at the award ceremony.
