The home-grown values that are the lifeblood of Sri Lankan culture are important to instill in the youth of today. Setting aside our differences, being friendly with our neighbours, sharing common goals and beliefs is what is vital. We should respect our elders and always learn from what knowledge is imparted to us. We should learn to help our sisters and brothers in far-flung areas in Sri Lanka to help them in their times of need. We need to respect them and respect their human rights, especially for a country for peace and unity.
